GREAT WEEKEND (5.17.09)

We had a great weekend with a visit from Brian's parents! It was super fun! They boys love having them here and always have lots of fun with them. Here are a few cute pictures that I took of them this weekend!

The boys eating dinner on Thursday night before Isaiah's 1st t-ball practice. Notice Isaiah has on his Yankees shirt - although his team is the Dodgers, he wore his Yankees shirt to the first practice - and looked SOOOOOO cute with his little baseball pants on. His first game is Thursday so I will be sure to post pictures of that!!

And last but not least - we went to a Montgomery Biscuits (AA baseball) game on Saturday night. It was so fun, we had great seats and enjoyed the fireworks after the game. It was super fun. The only problem was that as soon as they shot off the last firework, it started raining SOOOO hard. And we had to walk back to our car in the pouring down rain. We were all soaked to the bones when we got to the car, it was miserable. Levi laughed and thought it was funny!! HAHA! Enjoy a few pictures from the game!

GET THE KID A TOOTHBRUSH ALREADY... (5.14.09)

You know how when you are on the computer or doing something else, and your house is all of a sudden very quiet, and you know none of your children are asleep??? That can only mean one thing, someone is doing something they should not be doing!

Well, just a few moments ago, this is where I found Levi - STANDING on my bathroom counter, and playing with my toothbrush! I should have grabbed him down ASAP, but instead I ran in the kitchen and grabbed the camera, took his picture and then grabbed him down and gave him a stern, NO NO! Whatever, he didn't care, he just ran off!!

Then not 2 mintues later, he ran right into the extra bathroom, crawled up on the bathroom counter and got Isaiah's toothbrush, and then strolled right back into the living room with Isaiah's toothbrush! When I went to take his picture, he gave me this "I KNOW I AM DOING SOMETHING I SHOULD NOT BE DOING, BUT DON'T I LOOK CUTE GRIN!" How could I resist, so I snapped another few pictures!

Do you think he is trying to tell us that he wants to brush his teeth more??? So funny! He looks adorable and everyone notice his new shorter hair! What a cutie he is!!!!!

NOTE TO SELF: keep all bathroom doors closed at all times!!!!

BUNNIES, TURTLES & FROGS OH MY!!! (5.14.09)

We have been busy meeting some of our "backyard neighbors" as Isaiah calls them. We have bunnies ALL the time. We even got some bunny food for them and they seem to like it. A week or so ago when we had lots of rain, we found a BIG turtle up next to our sidewalk in the back, I didn't get his picture though. Isaiah named him TOOT and has been asking when Toot will come back to visit us again. He was quite concerned that he was a snapping turtle but after Brian picked him up we realized he wasn't. We also have frogs as well. We found a baby frog in our house the other night, yikes! Now I am fine with them being outside but inside is another story. And our human neighbors next door have a little frog habitat thing that they have 5 or 6 frogs in, Levi saw it the other day and went CRAZY over it, it was so funny! We are going to have to try and catch some frogs too! Needless to say our backyard is a little boys dream! Just as long as we don't see any "no shoulders" I will be fine!!!! So, I got this little blow up swimming pool at Walmart and who knew it would be such a hit! The boys love it. Isaiah has been in it multiple times and Levi too. They love it. And because it is so hot here, it's perfect for them outside. Here are a few pictures of the boys in the pool!! Enjoy!

SWEET HOME ALABAMA (4.22.09)

Well, we made it to Alabama and are trying to settle in. Now that I have more free time and internet at my ready access, I am hoping to be more efficient with our blog page. But I realize that I promise that every time I write and usually never live up to it. So, it is my goal to post more!

For now, things are going well. We are trying to get unpacked which is a process. I want things to be done but I am so sick of doing it that I have just stopped, hopefully this weekend I can pick it back up again. Brian is on Day 3 at his new job and things seem to be moving along. He seems very overwhelmed with meeting new people and such that he is just spent when he gets home. I know all of that will chance the more comfortable he gets there and with everyone around him.

Things are settling in with me being at home with both boys. They are both so use to having someone entertain them constantly that it is an adjustment for all of us to figure out how this is going to work. But, I know we will make it. I went and joined the YMCA this morning and was able to work out some. They have a child watch program in the morning for a little while so I can drop the kids off and they can play while I get some alone time and exercise. I think that will be good for us. And in a few more weeks they will open the pool there so that will be fun for all of us too. I am sure we will spend lots of time there this summer.

Thanks Ashley for the new header - it's super cute!!!! She is a wiz with Photoshop! It's great!!

And Levi is feeling much better today! Thank goodness. He seems to surely be on the mend.

We are busy this weekend with the Big South Women's Basketball tournament. HPU is hosting the tourney so Brian is busy with it all day today with 4 games, 2 games tomorrow and the championship game on Sunday!! Almost done!

SICK LITTLE LEVI (3.11.09)

Unlike my previous post that all happened before now, this is actually happening today! Levi is very sick! Poor buddy! He had a fever on Monday and has continued it and finally this morning I took him to the doctor. He has an ear infection, sinus yucky stuff and some sort of fever virus. One of those alone would be bad but all 3 - poor buddy! He is asleep right now and has been since about noon, I hope he will be feeling some better when he wakes up!!!

And I thought the above picture was soooo cute but he is not looking so happy and beautiful today!

ISAIAH'S 5 YEAR CHECKUP! (3.11.09)

Isaiah had his 5 year check up yesterday! Everything went great. He loves our doctor and so all was well while we were there. He played "2 games" - one called the hearing test and one called the eye test! He thought they were fun and didn't catch on or even care if they were actually to check to make sure his hearing and sight was fine. He did get 3 shots which was bad - of course but he got over it quickly. He officially weighed in at 42.25 lbs and was 43 inches tall. Very normal for both for his age. And his got his paperwork to go to Kindergarten too!!!!!!

SNOW DAY (3.11.09)

YEAH – it’s a snow day! We had a snow day on March 2, 2009. So fun, the kids loved it. We have a big time playing in the snow and we even tried some sledding on a street close to our house but we are BAMA folks and don’t own sleds so we had to resort to TV trays which didn’t work out so well. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!!!

ISAIAH'S 5TH BIRTHDAY! (3.11.09)

Isaiah’s 5th birthday was a week long event or shall I say a few weeks long! First, we went to Atlanta to visit with my family the weekend before his birthday to celebrate. We also enjoyed a fun day at the Atlanta Aquarium as well. Well, I take that back, some of us enjoyed a fun time – after we stood in line for over an hour with our pre-paid tickets and then got in and it was insanely crowded and kids are having meltdowns all over! Isaiah got to see the Beluga Whales which are his favorite and he even got a stuffed one in the gift shop, already known as Belugie! CUTE!

Then actually on the say of his birthday we had a party at his school and he loved it. Then he went home with Nona & Popa to our house for awhile. We had dinner at Carter Brothers – yummy! And then went to the men’s basketball game. Our marketing people were so nice to make a slide for the video board that said Happy Birthday Isaiah – see below and say Happy Birthday over the PA. He was so excited and felt sooooo special about that! Oh – almost forgot – we also gave him his favorite present of all – a giant slinky! Actually just a regular size slinky but he thought it was giant, he was so happy! Oh and Isaiah and Levi wore their matching YoGabbaGabba shirts - Isaiah picked them out especially for his birthday!

Then on Saturday with Nona and Popa we went to Chuck E. Cheese – better known as the germ capital of the world. Apparently everyone else in NC was had the same idea as us and went as well. It was so crowded and Brian almost got in a fight with this old lady who tried to push him out of the way at the door. Weird I know, usually I am the one starting fights with strangers but it was all Brian this time! So, that ends our fabulous birthday celebration!

Oh and the best part was that we finally broke down and bought a Wii! We have honestly played it everyday since then we got it and Isaiah loves it!

25 RANDOM THINGS - LINDSEY (2.23.09)

And here is my version - I think I actually did 30. ENJOY!

1 – My favorite color is green. I like all things green. I would choose a green anything over any other color every time. And my favorite candy is GREEN apple jolly ranchers. I always eat the green candy first, even if it isn’t flavored like M&M’s – weird, I know.

2 – I love Alabama. That is where my heart is always. No matter where I live, I will always want to be back in Alabama – it’s just where I feel most comfortable.

3 – I am the world’s worst speller. I am so bad and I would kiss the person who came up with that red squiggly line in Microsoft that underlines your misspelled words, it is so fabulous. AND, I hate when people send me emails that have words misspelled when I know it is coming from their Microsoft Outlook – don’t you see the RED UNDERLINED WORD, its misspelled dummy! You right click and choose the correct spelling, it’s super easy!

4 – I HATE shoes! I know, not the normal thing a girl would say but I do. If I could live in a land with no shoes I would be happy. I tolerate flip-flops but I would prefer my feet be free most of the time. I take my shoes off whenever possible. I don’t own a lot of shoes because why would I spend money on things I don’t like. I am not the girl on vacation that brings a suitcase of clothes and a suitcase of shoes. I am the one that brings 2 pairs of flip-flops and makes it work for every occasion no matter what the weather is.

5 – Relating to #4, I will always choose comfort over fashion. I like plain clothes; I am not really into that. Maybe because I live with 3 boys or maybe because that’s just who I am. I envy people who always look super cute all the time because I know that will never be me. I just don’t have the mental energy to spend on all of that, I wish I did but I just don’t.

6 – I love my husband. I don’t know if many other people get him like I do but I wish they did. He is very funny and so caring and the best dang father anyone has ever seen. Marrying him was one of the best decisions I have ever made and I mostly don’t regret it – hahaha, just kidding on the mostly!

7 – I love fruit, all kinds of fruit. I would literally eat it until I got sick and then go eat more. It’s my favorite food group – although I don’t think fruit is a food group. You get the point.

8 – I like to use ! (exclamation point)’s A LOT! I mean A LOT! I don’t know why, they are just more fun than a plain ole’ period. See what I mean!!!

9 – I am what you call a middle of the day person. I don’t like to stay up late at all and I don’t like to get up early in the morning. I am at my best in the middle of the day!

10 – I really love to sew! I love to see a piece of fabric become something. I dream of having more time to sew and people to sew for. I am however, not a perfectionist so I could never sew for money because I don’t have to have things perfect.

11 – I am a dog person (I say this as I sit here listening to Lucy, our dog, SNORE)! Ironically, I use to be terrified of dogs, or at least big dogs that is. But I am over that mostly now.

12 – I do not like scary movies or anything scary for that matter. I see these crazy movie previews on TV about scary stuff and I literally think in my head – what kind of person actually enjoys that and can sleep? It’s a mystery to me. I can’t watch Law and Order anymore because it is always about somebody being killed or some little kid being taken and it stresses me out and gives me nightmares so I avoid it!

13 – I love beauty pageants! Ironic after reading #4 and #5 I know but I do. I like to see the pretty dresses. I must confess that I have been in a few pageants myself before – ok, I think maybe I ought to have kept that to myself.

14 – I love my parents a lot! I am very close to them. I talk to my mother daily. My parents give in so many ways to my sister and me unconditionally all the time. And they are the best grandparents anyone could ever ask for. I am convinced that my children and my niece would choose my parents over me or my sister (or husbands) at most points! I think that is very sweet!!!

15 – Speaking of my niece, the sweet little JOLEA, she is half named after me. My sister’s middle name is JO and my middle name is LEA – now say it together JOLEA! And it irritates me when people don’t pronounce it correctly, which happens all the time!

16 – My oldest son Isaiah is quite possibly the smartest person I know. He can see a movie once and quote EVERY line from it. And he never forgets anything. He is hysterical all the time and I am proud to be his momma!

17 – I love watching movies (not scary ones though)! I love getting sucked into the story line. Usually after I watch a good movie I feel like I am right there in the story with them. Same with a good book, it makes me sad when it is over because I feel like the characters are my friends.

18 – Speaking of friends, I have the BEST, hands down Best Girlfriends on the planet. I have no doubt that if I have a crisis they would be by my side through it all. I also have no doubt that these girls will be sitting in the pews when my children get married, host a baby shower for my daughter in law for my first grandchild and be there when God forbid I have to bury my parents. They will be my friends for life. I live for our moments together, our beach trips, our lake trips or just a simple phone call or email. If you are one of those people to me, you know it; I don’t have to name names!

19 – My youngest son, Levi has the best smile and laugh. He is so happy (most of the time) and he loves to hug and kiss. He is such a good baby and I am sometimes shocked at how different he is from his older brother. And (I say this with a smile on my face) I am his favorite. All the time, well, most all of the time!

20 – I don’t like to cook. I don’t mind having cereal for dinner, it doesn’t phase me. I like going out to eat because someone else is cooking. It just doesn’t interest me. What can I say? Thank goodness I married a man who does or I would starve!

21 – I like to take baths at night. It is relaxing. I wish I had a huge bathtub to fill up with bubble and soak every night. That would be dreamy!

22 – I don’t drink a lot of soda but when I do, I like Orange soda – like Sunkist. It’s good! And Wal-Mart’s store brand – Orangette is super yummy and cheap!!! (Microsoft Word is telling me that Orangette is misspelled but I know it isn’t!)

23 – I am a Christian. I don’t read my Bible as often as I should and I surely don’t pray without ceasing but I strive to be better, a better Christian, a better example to others, a better follower of Christ. God is teaching me something always. Right now it is patience and I guess I am hard headed because He just keeps on teaching it!!!!!!!!

24 – I believe that life begins at conception. So therefore, I don’t believe that abortion is ever appropriate, ever, regardless of the situation. It is not our right to choice when life begins and ends. I have burned in my memory my first ultrasound of Isaiah when I was 5 weeks pregnant and the nurse pointed to the dot on the screen and said “that’s your baby” and that “baby” lives in my house. You can’t tell me that it would have been ok for me to abort him up to 7 weeks after that point. I will never believe it. Just my opinion!

25 – I really like sports. Although I am very uncompetitive in most aspects of my life, I really enjoy watching sports. Good thing since my husband is in college athletics. I mostly enjoy college athletics, not much at all into professional sports. I love the thrill of a last second shot on the court or the field goal at the end to win the game. There is nothing like it!

26 – I grew up in a house (the actual structure) that my Daddy built with his bare hands. And my parents now live in another house that my Daddy built as well. He is a fix-it type, obviously!

27 – When I was six months old, I had spinal meningitis and was hospitalized for awhile with it. I have a 50% hearing loss in my right ear because of it.

28 – I am embarrassed to admit this but I still sleep with a stuffed animal. It’s a black puppy dog and her name is Anna. When Brian and I got married we had a black lab named Ali (she has since died) and we LOVED her. So I think a year or so later I tried to convince Brian we needed another puppy, a friend for Ali. So instead of getting me another dog which we didn’t need, he got me a stuffed animal. Isaiah has tried to steal Anna from me several times but I won’t let him. HEHE!!!!

29 – I have a tattoo on my stomach. It’s a butterfly. It has weathered the storm of 2 pregnancies and stretch marks but it still looks quite nice. I love it; I don’t regret getting it at all! Most people don’t know this about me and are sometimes shocked to know it. I think that is strange!

30 - AND LAST - my mother and mother-in-law have a facebook page! I think that is sort of funny!!! HEHE!

25 RANDOM THINGS - BRIAN

So there is this new craze on facebook and everyone is posting their 25 Random Thoughts or 25 Things about me and they are really interesting. Brian and I both gave in the the craze and decided to do it and it was more fun than I thought. And since some of you are not on facebook or maybe didn't read it - I am going to post it here for you all to see:

25 Random Things - Brian's version!

1. I’m a communication professional, but I do a very poor job of communicating with my family and friends. I can go weeks without talking to my parents or siblings, not because I want to but just because I don’t call them for some reason.
2. My boys (Isaiah and Levi) are not only the greatest gifts from God but also probably the best thing that I have ever given to society as a whole
3. I met my wife (Lindsey) on my first day of work at the University of Alabama. She was a student worker in my office and I was (and still am) 10 years older than her.
4. I am jealous of my wife and her group of best friends. Not only do they take a summer trip together every year, they also truly support and love one another like a group of sisters. I wish I had just one or two really close friends that I could be totally real with all the time and not feel I was being judged
5. I know there is a God… No way can a person witness the birth of a child and believe that all that is this world just happened and began from some pre-time mud puddle and a “bang”
6. I am thankful and blessed to be a follower of Jesus Christ… It doesn’t make me perfect, in fact most times I do the things I know I’m not supposed to or don’t want to, but it does mean that God loves me and continues to try and recreate me in His image
7. I went on a mission trip to Kenya about 5 years ago and was forever changed. I learned more about myself in those two weeks than at any point in my life. I learned lessons about being thankful and content. I also am forever connected to that country and would go back every year if I could afford it. I know that I will return one day and I am definitely taking my family with me.
8. I knew that I wanted to work in Sports Information (my current job) after the first day I volunteered at Mississippi State. I have never regretted following my career path but I do realize that I have missed out on many things chasing this dream.
9. I am a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and have many fond memories from my days with my Sig-Ep brothers from college. I wish I would have done a better job staying in contact with them all.
10. I think my 9th grade year may be the greatest single year in my life. I feel like the stars were aligned for me that year and I was pretty successful in almost everything I did.
11. In my second career, I would like to maybe be a chef. I love cooking and trying things in the kitchen. It is probably a good thing since my wife is a self-professed non-cooker. My best dish is beef (or meat as Isaiah calls them) Tacos made with my own special sauce.
12. My secret ingredient for nearly every recipe is brown sugar (I also like to balance the sweetness with a touch of Cayenne pepper)
13. I love playing golf and everything about the sport. I wish I could play more and maybe someday I will. I believe that if I had a chance to play regularly that I would get myself down to a single-digit handicap.
14. Upon my graduation from college, I had the choice of two career paths – College Athletics or Youth Ministry – I often wonder what would have happened if I had picked Youth Ministry. Sometimes I feel like I let God down by not going that direction.
15. My wife is my best friend. We are very different on some things but to borrow a cheesy line from Jerry MacGuire… She really does complete me!! Plus, without her I would only be able to make boys instead of unbelievably adorable boys (she makes them cute)
16. My oldest son Isaiah is what some might call a spitting-image of me. It really is like I just spit him out of my mouth. He walks, acts, talks, pretty much everything like me. I hope that I can help him learn from my mistakes and be a better person than me
17. Divorce sucks… While I feel that my parents handled it the best they could, I still feel that I have some hurts and scars that keep me guarded even today
18. I use to make fun of my bonus dad (aka: stepfather) because he ran cross country as a teenager. Now, I love running. It is the only way I can keep weight off. On days I don’t run, I feel like a sloth. I have run one ½ marathon and several 5 and 10K races. I want to run a marathon in the near future.
19. My musical tastes are very diverse… I enjoy listening to U2, Garth Brooks, Kirk Franklin, Third Day, Ol’ School Rap like Run DMC and Beastie Boys and Public Enemy, Classical music and many others. Music lyrics are something that have the ability to move me to tears (as does Extreme Home Makeovers… every friggin’ time)
20. I love reality TV. I especially enjoy watching the group dynamics on those shows and try to figure out where I would fit in if I was on the show
21. I think it would be cool for MTV to have a “Real World, 40s” and let 7 strangers from age 40-45 live in house together to see what happens when people stop living and start being real.
22. I love Facebook because of how it has allowed me to reconnect with so many folks from my teen, college and past work lifes
23. I was born in New Jersey and lived their until I was 10, spent a year in Pennsylvania, then moved to Nashville (where my mom and bonus dad still live), went to college and lived in Starkville (Miss.) for 7 years, lived/worked in Murray (Ky) for 3 years, lived/worked in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) for 8 years and now have lived/worked in High Point (N.C) for four years… I would love to return to Starkville to raise my boys
24. Favorite Things: Smiles of my boys, laughter of my wife and kids, hearing my wife sing – especially praise & worship music, hearing my boys say “Daddy” when I come home from work or a trip, reading a John Grisham book, sleeping in my own bed, Bible Verse: Jeremiah 29:11
25. I hope that at sometime in my life I had a positive impact or was a positive influence for someone.

So I guess everyone that actually reads this blog page thinks that The Morgans must have fallen off the earth because I haven't posted in so long. Well, we are alive and kicking - just really busy. I am going to try and post several things today so you will have lots of reading to do! Thanks for being patient with me!!

SICKNESS (2.1.09)

Ok, so it’s been a long week in the Morgan household. Brian went out of town on Tuesday for a day trip. Levi woke up about 9:30 that evening (right in the midst of me watching The Biggest Loser – ugh) and started throwing up. He got sick LOTS and I washed every sheet I had for his bed and he threw up on me a couple of times. It was not good! SO NOT GOOD! Brian ended up staying home with him on Wednesday and besides from some diaherra he seemed better. Everyone went back to work and school on Thursday and that was good. Then Friday morning about 3 am Brian woke up and was sick. He was then sick all day on Friday and by that evening he was starting to feel better. Of course they called us from Levi’s school about 2pm on Friday and said we needed to come and get him because he was having some diaherra and they thought he was still sick. OK – this makes no sense to me, he was there all day Thursday and 6 hours on Friday, I am pretty sure if he is still sick he has infected everyone there, why call 3 hours before we are coming to get him. I guess they don’t like changing his diaper. Anyway, Brian was feeling better and Levi seemed fine so that was good. Brian was suppose to leave on Saturday around 1 pm for a 3 day trip so I was glad he was better. Well……then about 4 am on Saturday morning I woke up sick. GREAT!!! So, Brian is totally panicing about me being there by myself with the boys and sick. But, what other choice do we have. That’s the price you pay for living 9 hours from your family, no one to help when you need it. Anyway, so I stayed in bed all morning yesterday while Brian tending to the boys and he feed them lunch and put Levi down for a nap. All I had to do was muster up enough strength to take care of them in the afternoon after naptime and feed them dinner and get them to bed. Surely I could do that! Well, after Levi woke up – that is when my fever was at it’s worst and I came close to passing out several times and almost threw up when I had to change Levi’s diaper. Oh my – so anyway, I survived, I don’t know how but I did. This morning seems to be better. Just a little tired but other than that, no more sickness! It was bad and poor Brian was totally stressed the whole time after he left. So, that’s our week recap. This next week at work is one of the worst weeks for me because we have our family weekend next weekend. Luckily my mom and dad are coming to take care of the boys on Friday so that will be good! Alrighty, hope everyone else avoids the “sick in the mouth” as Isaiah calls it! Later!

Ok, so I have these photos to post and most of them have some commentary to go with them so bare with me. Let me set the scene........on Sunday the boys wore their matching sweaters to church and looked OH SO cute in them, so when we got home, I thought I would take a few pictures. No problem right. Pictures of the boys, pictures of Brian with the boys, pictures of me with the boys......is it possible to get a picture of all 4 of us, maybe with the self-timer on the camera. So we attempted that....then I think, is it possible to get a picture of all 4 of us PLUS Lucy the dog - Brian laughs at me but I think we should try. See below and don't laugh too hard!

As promisied here is a picture of the boys sporting their new HPU Panthers shirts. They look sooooo cute! They had to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath it because it is sooo cold here. They are so cute and Levi is so funny, when I got the camera out he just stands really still, I think he likes having his picture made.

Does anyone notice the LARGE bruise on his forehead?? Well, let me tell you what happened. We were coming in the house from the basketball game and I put Levi down right outside the door so I could get my keys out and open the door. He tripped forward and hit his head on the door, screaming.....lots of screaming! I unlocked the door super fast so that our neighbors didn't call the police from all the screaming! I thought he hit his eye so I was checking out his eye and didn't even notice - not sure how - the place on his forehead. Then Isaiah said, MOM - look at Levi's head. OH MY GOSH - I freaked out! It looks really bad. Thankfully this morning the goose egg look is gone, just really bruised and has a little cut in the middle. See more pictures below. After it happened, I kept him up for awhile to make sure he wasn't acting weird. Poor little guy! There goes my mom of the year award AGAIN! Only 18 days into the new year and I have already lost it! SAD TIMES!

I have been meaning to post this for a week or so now and just keep forgetting. I am always using that as an excuse aren't I?? Oh well! My friend April sent it to me and some other ladies and I thought it was very sweet. If you have ever had a really great girlfriend or group of friends, then this will touch your heart! I did cry the first time I watched it, sitting at work at my desk hoping no one would ask me why I was crying....haha! Anyway, if you want to watch go ahead. I realize this isn't a usual post about one of the kids but for whatever reason I thought someone out there might like it! It's called Transcending Women.

Ok, so Happy New Year about 2 weeks too late! Sorry folks! Life is busy as you all know. We are rocking along here. Not much new to report. The boys are still enjoying all of their Christmas presents and we are looking forward to Isaiah's 5th birthday next month - that seems hard to believe!

Brian is busy at work with men's basketball stuff and traveling and such. We have been going to lots of games of course and I just broke down today, finally, and bought the boys HPU Panthers t-shirts to wear to the games - the few that are left. So, I will be sure to post a picture of them wearing their matching shirts!

Until then, enjoy a few recent pictures (actually the first photos of 2009 Morgan Family, or at least that is how it is saved on my computer) of the boys being silly around the house! We celebrated Brian's 40th Birthday on December 28th. Well, actually we celebrated on the 29th because he was gone to Minnesota on a basketball trip on the 28th. He came home on the 29th and we gave him his presents and I took him out to dinner. He thought the dinner was going to be just me and him at Cypress Inn for a yummy dinner but one of his best friends from college Marc Sims and his wife Christi came to meet us. Brian was so thrilled, we had not seem them in years and it was great to catch up. We laughing and talking the whole time, we closed the place down and it was so fun!! I think Brian really loved it. 40 years is pretty significant so I tried to make it super special for him and I think he liked it all. Enjoy a few pictures from our "party"!!!

So, we made a trek to Alabama for Christmas and had loads of fun! I am way behind on my blogging so I am basically just going to post some pictures because I can't think of what to type about our trips since it was weeks ago and I am just now getting to this. BUSY BUSY!

Ok, well some of the highlights were: going to a Bama Basketball game (and seeing Joni Crenshaw), seeing John and Maggie (and kids), having dinner with The Coggins' and The Minor Family at Jason's Deli, having lunch with KB, hanging out one evening with Pat, Stacia, Morgan and Evan Roberts - YEAH SO FUNNNN!!! What else? oh christmas was good too, and Levi got his hair cut and the boys got lots of great toys and I got to see my family!! And we celebrated Brian's 40th birthday (see another post about that) and eating at Taco Casa - soooooo yummy!!! I am sure I am forgetting some stuff but I hit some of the highlights. The kiddos had so much fun with my parents! We did have a sad moments, when Jack - my parents dog of 15 plus years - died on the 23rd. It was very sad times and his companion Jill is doing ok but from what my mom says is howling alot and must miss Jack alot! SAD!!

Oh and I almost forgot about my girl's night with April, Jessica and Joanne. We went to Jessica's lakehouse for one evening and it was soooooo much fun! You ladies are my bestest friends and I enjoyed every moment with ya'll. And Brian and the boys (and Lucy, the dog) staying back in Birmingham with Alan (April's husband) and their 3 kids. Apparently the braved the zoo and the park with 2 dad's and 5 children ages 6 and under! WOW - we were impressed, just goes to show what good daddy's they are! Anyway, us girls sure enjoyed our time away!

Alrighty, I promise to TRY and be better about my blogging - it's get hard at times but I will try my hardest to do a better job!!! Love to you all!

LEVI'S 1ST HAIRCUT (12.23.08)

Levi's got his first haircut while in Alabama for Christmas! It is soooooo cute and he did so good, never cried or got upset or anything. After seeing his hair cut now, it looks adorable and he really did look like a girl before, poor little guy!! Enjoy some video and pictures!

I loved the kid's haircut place where they have the car's they sit in and watch TV. Levi was too concerned that he would miss something on Elmo so he paid little attention to the lady actually cutting his hair! Isaiah also got a haircut too - see video below of him!

Yesterday was the annual HPU Children's Christmas party! It is always so fun and Isaiah really likes it. Santa comes and bring each child a gift. Isaiah and Levi looked so cute in their matching sweaters so we took a few pictures after it was over. Isaiah got a little red backpack with some toy cars in it. And Levi got a little toy with a hammer - great! Levi was so excited to see Santa. He really loves characters - or really anything like that so I knew he would really like Santa and he sure did! It was funny. Anyway, only a week until we go to Alabama for Christmas!

Hope everyone is doing great! Oh and I and my family would really appreciate some prayers for my sister tomorrow. She is having surgery in the morning and while we expect things to go fine, we are still very anxious for her. A few extra prayers would be appreciated by all!!!

Wow, I didn't realize how long it has been since I posted anything new. SLACKER AGAIN! Oh well, please forgive me. So as you see above from the pictures, I was trying to get a cute picture of the boys the other day and no such luck. One of them is always looking the other direction or something. OH WELL - and if you are wondering if we traded Levi in for the girl version, we didn't! His hair is just insanely long and he will be getting a hair cut when we get to Alabama at Christmas time. Until then, we will just have to suffer through everyone calling him a girl, and it does happen on a regular basis! Oh well - he is a cutie, what can I say!

Otherwise, we are doing fine. Anxiously awaiting being off work for awhile and going to visit my family. Christmas should be super fun! More pictures to come soon!!!! Hope everyone else is doing great!!!

We are almost done collecting all of the Madagascar characters - the only one we haven't gotten is Gloria the Hippo! Isaiah loves playing with them and has multiples of some of them which he loves! Thanks to everyone who helped us get them by getting a happy meal!!!! We thank you!!!

So, our best news of the Thanksgiving season has been that we got gas yesterday for $1.63 - WOW! That is amazing!! Brian was upset though because right before we got that cheap gas, we passed a station and couldn't turn in time that actually had gas for $1.59 - so he felt like we paid too much for our $1.63. I told him I would give him 50 cents to make up the difference. WOW - I like it when it take $30 to fill up our van - as opposed to the $85 it took only a few months ago!! HOORAY!!!! I just wonder how much lower it will go...............

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We had a great Thanksgiving yesterday! We had lunch at Mark and KJ's house along with Nona, Popa, Uncle Freddie and Aunt Janine. It was fun and so yummy food! We planned to stay up there all day but of course Levi wasn't cooperating in the nap department and so we decided it would be best for everyone to come home and let him nap at home. Good choice!

Then last night we were invited to enjoy another yummy Thanksgiving meal with Betty and her family. Betty and I work together and she is the nicest lady ever and a terrific cook! So, we had dinner with her family and it was great fun. Isaiah and Levi loved their 3 dogs and Levi kept following one of them around to pet her. It was sweet! Betty also sent us home with some yummy pie - sooooo good!

Levi is doing good. He has been a little sickly lately - just cold, boogers and such. The usual - just enough to make a baby really grumpy but not really enough to take them to the doctor or anything like that. But I am sure he will be on the mend soon! WHAT TO SAY?? (11.18.08)

Well, I think I need to add a new post here but I don't really have anything super creative or funny to say, at least I don't think so. So, what's been going on with us???

Well, Levi is eating so good lately, and lots and lots and lots of table foods. We hardly ever have to give him any baby foods. He doesn't really like to touch things, he would rather us just feed him on a spoon or put it in his mouth but he is eating like crazy. Some of you know that I have been slightly concerned about his weight and his eating habits but all seems to be great. Hooray for that!! And he is walking around EVERYWHERE - hardly crawling at all anymore. Good news is that he doesn't get as dirty because maybe, just maybe my floors aren't super clean. But bad news is that he does still fall quite a bit so we have more cries than normal.

Oh and tonight for fun, Levi pooped in the tub - SOOOOO gross! Thank you LORD JESUS that Brian was here because I do not clean up the poop like that. I grabbed the kids out of the tub and he went to cleaning. My sweet husband, he is willing to do all the things that I can't stomach doing or that I just don't want to (washing the dishes, kill bugs, and clean up the poop in the tub)! I got lucky, I know! Oh and Levi is also in desperate need of a haircut! Ok, I don't really want to cut his hair but Brian REALLY does. And after about the 10th person has called him a girl, it makes me think that maybe that is a good idea. I mean seriously, if you see a little person wearing a NAVY BLUE outfit with a soccer ball on it - what in your mind, regardless of what they look like, thinks that the child MUST be a girl???? And even walk up to me and say "Your little girl is SOOOOOO cute?" I, very friendly of course, said "I don't have a little girl, but this is Levi my son!" Seriously, PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE!!!!!! So, it's the hair, I know it, it is long and curly in the back and as much as it pains me to think that when we cut it, he will no longer look like a baby but then like a little kid, I think it might be time. BOOHOOOOOOO!!!!

Ok, on to Isaiah - not to much new to report with him. He is doing good! He got in trouble at school last week for being a "sore loser" apparently! They were playing a game and he didn't win and he threw his hands down and got mad. So, he is super competitive - he gets it honest you know, anyone met Brian before?????? I guess when we are playing games with him we should actually beat him sometimes to let him know that it is possible for him to lose. We will work on that!!!

So, start the prayers coming, Brian leaves on Saturday and will be gone until next Wednesday evening on a basketball trip. I can only imagine what insanity will happen in the 5 days he is gone. I am sure it will be good! It always is.

Alrighty, time for me to go, gotta get ready to watch The Biggest Loser!!!!! More to come!

THE TIDE KEEPS ROLLING (11.9.08)

Man alive - that game last night was completely crazy. I had a serious headache and felt sick to my stomach well after it was over. I went into the game KNOWING that we would win but I just wasn't sure how it would all play out. And at the end of the 4th qtr when LSU blocked our field goal to win the game, I just started screaming "NO, NO, NO, NO"! Levi was crying from me screaming and I couldn't watch anymore. I already felt sick so I just got up and walked out. I went upstairs to put the kids in the bath and as Brian was calling out the play-by-play from downstairs I was so nervous I could have thrown up. Then he said - WE INTERCEPTED THE BALL! Oh lordie, I got excited then and screamed again, then Levi started crying AGAIN. And then he is giving me the play-by-play, big gains, we are at the 2 yard line. TOUCHDOWN, I thought I would die. I am still screaming and Levi is still crying! Then Ashley calls, she is screaming, Jolea is screaming in the background probably because Ashley scared her screaming. Oh goodness, we won - thank you lordie! Now we have to beat Brian's MSU bulldogs and those Auburn Tigers and then..............Flordia in the SEC Championship game, which I will be attending - thanks Momma and Daddy! Oh Lord please, surely we can beat Florida too! Time will tell! For now we are #1 and enjoying it! ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Oh and the picture from this morning before church, Isaiah wanted he and Levi to dress alike so the only shirts I could find sort of alike were solid red shirts and jeans and then Brian got dressed and wore his Alabama red shirt too. They looked so cute so I took their picture! I wore black, not red, I didn't want people to think we were strange at church ya know!

Madagascar 2 comes out today!!!! The original Madagascar is Isaiah ALL TIME favorite movie. He loves it and has watched it a million times. He has Madagascar curtains in his room, he has every line from the movie memorized, he can do the dance that the move it monkeys do, you get the idea - he loves the movie. So, we have been anxiously awaiting this movie to come out. Unfortunately we will not be seeing it this weekend. We have no one to babysit Levi while we take Isaiah but we are hoping to take him at some point in the next few weeks. Anyway, so we will give you a full review when we go and see it.

Along with the new movie coming out is McDONALD's HAPPY MEAL TOYS AGAIN!!!!! So, McDonald's in getting in on the action for the new movie and we are once again asking for your help to help Isaiah collect all the toys. We will likely be going to McDonalds this weekend to get our first of the characters but we need your help getting the rest (grandparents, aunts, uncles, this is your time to shine!!!!)! See list below of all the 8 character toys:

This should be a very exciting day for me and many of my fellow true Alabama fans, but I am slightly nervous! The Alabama Crimson Tide is indeed #1 in the polls. It seems a little scary to be going to LSU next week being #1, in Baton Rouge, where OUR Coach Saban use to coach. OH LORDIE! I can't even think about how nervous I will be watching that game! Above pictured is Isaiah wearing his Bama shirt that of course he wore to church this morning, along with Brian sporting a Bama shirt as well!

LEVI'S FALL (11.1.08)

So, my MOTHER OF THE YEAR 2008 award is offically be stripped away! Levi fell down the stairs at our house yesterday evening. For those of you who haven't had the priviledge of coming to our house, we have a very old house with very old, steep, hard wooden stairs. Luckily they don't go straight down, we have 2 stairs then a landing, and 10 or so stairs going in another direction and then another landing and then 4 stairs going to the top. Not sure if that even makes sense or not. Anyway, we have a gate at the top of our stairs to prevent such terrible things from happening. We were getting ready to head to the first WBKB game last night and I was helping Isaiah change clothes. Levi was crawling around upstairs and I hear a THUMB and then a few more THUMB, THUMB, THUMBs, and then SCREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!! Oh lord, the unthinkable has just happened. I didn't lock the gate and smart little Levi opened the gate and went down the 4 steps to the next landing, thankfully on his belly! THANK YOU LORD that he was not more hurt. It scared the living daylights out of me, I started crying, Isaiah was crying and Levi was screaming. It was awful. Brian had just left to go early and I called him and he immediately rushed home. I guess we have all had these accidents and it is a very quick and harsh reminder that they can get out of our sight and into BAD trouble before we know it. Most of you know that I fell down the same steps, except the longer portion last year right after Levi was born and broke my toe (you know how all your toes point up, I had 4 pointing up and the baby toe pointing LEFT - OUCH!) We are so very thankful that he was on his belly and not standing because then he would have rolled and I don't even want to think of what terrible injuries he would have had then. For now he just have 4 nice bruises on his face. I tried to get a picture but you can't really see them that well. 3 on the forehead right below his hair line and then 1 under his left eye. Bless his heart!!!

Moral of the story - don't be like me, watch your kids at ALL TIMES!!!

WHAT WILL SANTA BRING TO ISAIAH AND LEVI?? (11.1.08)

Yesterday we took a little trip to our new fancy Walmart to check out some potiental Christmas presents that Santa might want to bring to our house! Levi was so funny - he loved the animated things - like the Elmo Live doll. He was kissing it and loving on it - Brian and I were laughing so hard. You can hear him in the video giving it kisses! Then as you will notice at the end of the video - the price $59.88, that is INSANE for a talking Elmo! Or am I totally out of touch with toys. It seems overly expensive to me. Anyway, see the 2nd video, Levi also loved the Yo-Gabba-Gabba Brobee dancing doll. He actually cried when we walked away from it. More reasonably priced at $15. Santa likes it when he try to save money!!!

Isaiah also found lots of stuff he liked. Everything Little Einsteins, Diego, Wonder Pets, Backyardiagans, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - he loved everything associated with his favorite shows. We got some good ideas about what they both were excited about so we - I mean Santa has some good leads for Christmas time this year! Hooray!

TRICK-or-TREATING (10.31.08)

The boys had a great time trick-or-treating tonight. Isaiah counted up his candy and he got 48 pieces - WOW - that's alot! Levi got alot too. Looks like me and Brian have lots of candy to help eat. We did have a few trick-or-treaters at our house but only a few before we left to head out ourselves. Isaiah got tired towards the end so I ended up carrying him - not fun carrying a 40 plus lb kid! After we got home we headed up to the men's soccer game for a bit and Isaiah redistributed some of his candy to everyone. Fun times!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy more pictures below!

Above is Levi the Elephant (age 13 months) and below is Isaiah the elephant (age 9 months) - same costume. Levi is little for his age - Isaiah was big! RECYCLYING is great!!!!! People comment alot on how they look alike and I normally don't think so at all but seeing just their little faces in the costume I guess they do sort of favor each other!!

MY WEEKEND TO BAMA (10.29.08)

I ended up going to Alabama last weekend to visit with my parents. My mom was sick, we thought at one point that she had a blood clot in her lung but it turned out to be pneumonia. She is feeling much better now so that is great news!

The highlights of the weekend included BAMA beating UT - ROLL TIDE!!! It was super fun to watch the Bama game with my parents and sister. The original family together again cheering on the Tide - it doesn't get much better than that! I took Isaiah with me and he and I got to sneak up to B-ham to see some of my friends. My very best friend April celebrated her birthday on Friday and so we went up to see her for a few hours. Here is a picture of Isaiah and Owen (her middle child)! Those 2 had the best time playing together. We also enjoyed seeing Jessica and Joshua and I missed see you Joanne and the babies (hope they are both feeling better)!!

We made the 9 hour drive to Tuscaloosa on Thursday and then made it again on Sunday on the way home. Isaiah and I had a good time and are very thankful that GANNY is AOK!!!!!

Ok, we carved the pumpkin. Well first we went to the pumpkin patch and bought one, Isaiah picked it out. It might have been the biggest pumpking there but hey, you tell a 4 year old he can pick whatever one he wants, you just don't know what you are going to get. So, it is big! He and Brian carved it, a crazy little face! I bought the candle and we gave him a name - BOB! His official name is Bob-o-lantern Morgan - or at least that is what Isaiah said. Bob for short though. Bob has gotten a few ants in his head but he is still going strong. Enjoy the pictures below and of course Isaiah thought the insides of Bob's head were GROSS!

ISAIAH AT THE PUMPKIN PATCH (10.18.08)

Isaiah's class took a trip to the pumpkin patch earlier this week. They had a ball! They took a hayride and each got to pick out a pumpkin to bring home. Brian went with them because I guess we are still seriously over protective parents and won't let Isaiah ride in the transportation provided, we would prefer to drive him. No seriously, last year all of the other parents in his class went with their kids as well so this year Brian was going to go with Isaiah. He was the only parent that went, so it was 7 kids, Brian and Isaiah's 2 teachers. OOPS!!! Anyway, enjoy a few pictures of Isaiah and his classmates at the pumpkin patch!!

TOTAL SLACKER (10.14.08)

So, for all of you readers out there who have been thinking I am a total slacker for not posting more, you are right! I AM! I am sorry! Here goes our last weeks updates (nothing to exciting I promise)!

Last week Levi went to the doctor for his 1 year check up. He was 19 lbs 4 oz (still in the 10%) and something like 31 inches tall (pretty normal for his age). As some of you know I have been slightly concerned about his weight because when I took him at his 9 month check up, one of the doctors (not the one we normally see) sort of made me think he wasn't gaining enough weight. Seriously this kid eats alot so I was sort of stressed. Well, we went back to our favorite Dr. Poston this time for his year visit and she wasn't worried in the least. She said as long as he is eating and he has fat pads on his thighs and arms, we were ok. Check - he has that! So, I am less worried. We have ALMOST completely made the transition to milk/sippy cup. He is having lots of milk in a sippy cup all day long but we haven't broken him away from the night time bottle yet. He just loves it sooooo much and I can't possibly think of taking it away from him. I still have been giving him formula though as not to confuse him with the milk in a bottle situation. Plus, I think he likes it because it is warm too and I am not going to get in the habit of heating milk up for him at night because we will NEVER break him of it then! I promised Dr. Poston to be done with it by...............our next appt at 18 months - hahaha! No seriously, maybe another week (or 2 or 3) of it and we will be done. HEHE - it's the last baby thing, ok maybe I have the problem here. I will work on that!

Isaiah is being funny as ever! He is selling cookie dough for his class at school. The cookie dough is really, really (I mean seriously really) good but it is sort of pricey. He has been hitting up all our family members (that are close enough to pick it up) and still has a few more to go so be on the lookout if you haven't received your call. He is quite the salesman. My mother had more than done her share by buying 3 tubs of cookie dough when he asked to speak to POPS and suckered him into getting another tub. He was then so excited about selling 4 tubs at one time! He just couldn't believe it. Then he turned around to me and said "Hey, POPS got the M&M cookies and I wanted those too!" I then explained that more than 1 person can get each kind because they have plenty. OHHHHH..... got it MOM!

In other funny Isaiah stories, tonight in the bathtub I noticed a large bug bite on the top of his foot. Here is the conversation that followed:

MOM: Isaiah, what's that big red place on your foot?

Isaiah: It's a bug bite!

MOM: It's really big - what kind of bug bit you?

Isaiah: A REALLY big bug, I think it was one of those YELLOW JACKS.

MOM: Oh really, you think it was a Yellow JACK??

Isaiah: For sure, those Yellow JACKS they have really big mouths so they make really big bite marks!

MOM: Got it!

Note to self, stay away from those dreaded Yellow Jacks (known to the rest of the world that don't live in Isaiah land as Yellow JACKETS)!

Brian is doing fine, working hard as usual. He is trying to finish up his MBKB media guide so that is consuming alot of his free time.

I have taken up a new hobby (because you know I am bored alot), reading. Anyone heard of it. JK. Really I am not much of a reader really but my sister and mom suggested some Nicholas Sparks books and BOY - they are gooooooood! I read The Wedding first, it is the sequel to The Notebook (as I am sure some of you have seen that movie)! It was such a sweet love story, very good! Then my sister says, you have got to read The Guardian next. So I went and checked it out at the library on Saturday. OH MY- I finished it last night! That is the best book ever. I must admit there were some parts that I wasn't expecting and what I thought the book was about, well it wasn't. But it was really, really, really, really good. And it draws you in from the introduction. You are hooked from the beginning. Now you must be asking when have I had time in 2 1/2 days to read a 360 page book, well I don't know really. It just happened. I couldn't put it down. I actually thought seriously about not going to work yesterday so I could stay home and finish it but I didn't. I highly recommend it - reading this book that is, not going to work to stay home and read it, bad idea!

Alright, enough for now! I have to go and watch The Biggest Loser while I eat my ice cream, haha!!! Promise to write more often or at least I promise I will try to write more often! Love you all!!

Well, I am officially a complete slacker for not putting all of this up sooner! Here is some video from Levi's birthday!! What a cutie he is! He really enjoyed his cupcake. LEVI TAKES SOME STEPS (9.30.08)

Levi took a few steps tonight and we were able to capture it on camera! His teacher at school this morning said that he had done it yesterday at school but we had not seem him until tonight. What a sweet little guy he is. Pardon the yelling and cheering on the video - obviously we were cheering him on. Also, he is making the transition from baby food to solid foods and formula to whole milk nicely. Today at school was the first day he had "real" lunch and his teachers said he did great. And he has had lots of milk and seems to have no allergy to it. He still likes the bottle at night time and morning time so that might be tougher to break than during the day. Oh well - baby steps I guess! Oh and a breakthrough this past week, Levi has learned a new word - MOMMY! He actually says mommy correctly. It is sooooooo sweet! He also says Daddy now vs. saying DaDa before. His other favorite word is UHOH. I promise to post pictures and some video from his birthday this past weekend very soon! We are having a very busy week at work with our Alumni & Family Weekend happening this weekend, so this is all I can manage tonight and I thought it was too cute to wait to post later! Enjoy!

THE BIG SLEEPOVER (9.21.08)

So, for a week or so now I have been promising Isaiah we would have a sleepover. He loves more than anything to sleep with Brian or I (or us together) but NEVER gets to. We don't usually do the family bed thing but on a rare special night we might let him sleep with us or if one of us is out of town we will let him sleep in our bed. He thinks it is the biggest treat ever. So last week I had been promising him that on Friday night we could have a sleepover. Well to make things just slightly more interesting I decided to set up our 4-person tent in his room for our sleepover - campout! When he opened up his door to go into his room he was SOOOOOO excited! He kept saying "THIS IS SOOOOO COOL!" Well actually his first words were, "what the heck is this?" And then he was wowed by it! He was beyond excited! To make things even more fun I brought several games, books, coloring, and of course snacks for the sleepover. So, we stayed up and played for several hours, even learned a new song (You Ain't Nothing But a Hounddog! - Katie you would be so proud of my little man singing Elvis). It was super fun! The only downfall was that I didn't sleep at all - I mean really I did not sleep. Isaiah has a queen size bed and since I basically put his bed in the tent there was plenty of room, it was just really hot in the tent. No air circulation or something. At about 3:30 am - I felt like I had not slept at all so I got up and went to my bed. Isaiah was a little sad with me in the morning that I had gotten up but he got over it quickly. All in all it was so much fun and I know he will be asking to do it again soon. Maybe next time can be Daddy/Isaiah campover!!!!

Brian and I know for sure that Isaiah's love language is Quality Time. Well, things like this are right up his alley. Being able to spend 1 on 1 quality time with me or Brian is the most important thing to him. Needless to say we had a blast and he (of course) wanted to keep the tent in his room for now. So we let him. Levi even enjoyed climbing in the tent as well. Enjoy some pictures below!

Side note - no favoritism was shown in the selecting of these photos by myself - only Isaiah, he chose them, they are his photos on his night stand - notice my picture is no where to be found! A lot of mornings we will find these photos in the bed with him! How sweet - especially the one of Ali.

Thanks for looking at our pictures! All else is well in the Morgan household! Getting ready for Levi's birthday on Saturday. I can't believe he will be 1 - that is completely crazy! We are going to Atlanta to spend his birthday with my family for the weekend. This is a big birthday year for us - I just turned 3o, Levi will be 1 next weekend, Brian will be 40 in December and Isaiah will be 5 in Feb. All milestone birthdays for us! Oh and in other news of interest - Levi decided to eat some chalk tonight - green chalk to be exact! Brian and I walked in the playroom and there he stood aganist a chair, eating some chalk - chunks in his mouth and green all over his lips. I freaked out of course and started screaming thinking at any moment he was going to stop breathing. Brian assured me that Crayola wouldn't make something that would actually KILL a small child, even if they ate it - not even sidewalk chalk?? No, he promised me! Maybe it will just make his poop bright green - that would be really gross. Funny!!!!!! Everyone have a great week!!

LONG TIME NO POST/RUGS (9.21.08)

So, it's been over a week since I have posted - sorry guys! Life is sometimes busy with 2 little people to deal with. Although I always have LOTS to post about, I don't always have the time to sit down and do it. Come to think of it, I shouldn't be doing this right now. I should be folding clothes, or washing more clothes, or starting dinner, or watching the kids or something else but I am choosing to do this now. So, on to the actual post............

RUGS, RUGS, and more RUGS!!!!

As you all know, Brian and I both work at High Point University. Well, apparently some generous donor who owns an oriental rug company donated LOTS of rugs to HPU. The school had tons left and decided to let the employees each select a rug for FREE! Now, we aren't talking about walmart rugs now, we are talking about REALLY nice and REALLY fancy rugs!!! I was thinking what in the world am I going to do with a fancy rug in my house, much less 2 fancy rugs, nothing else in our house is even close to fancy. Anyway, Brian and I got to each select one and we think we did pretty good. We got one large rug that measures axp. 8 feet by 10 feet and then we selected a runner for our foyer area that is slighty to long measuring 2.5 feet by 12 feet long. They are both really pretty and really nice and really fancy and I am sure really expensive, so I surely hope no one spills juice or something on one of them. Maybe one day we will have a fancy house to put our fancy rugs in! For now, we will just enjoy the rugs!!!! Brian and I have totally crazy kids. And they are completely different from each other. For instance, Levi is into everything and is totally a climber. See below, notice that he is on top of the tool table and climbing up to where the TV is in the playroom! And he looks totally guilty like I caught him doing something he shouldn't be doing!

And Isaiah has a new trick - he has learned to cross his eyes! Now seriously, are 4 year olds suppose to be able to cross their eyes. I did tell him that if he kept doing that they might get stuck like that, he wasn't scared at all! He thinks it is really funny! So when I was trying to take his picture all he wanted to do was cross his eyes!

They are both musically inclined! See both below singing and also Levi playing the saxophone - Aunt Ashley would be so proud!!!

Today I am 30 years old! WOW - that seems impossible. I had a fabulous birthday weekend (see previous post) with my friends and family! Today I did have to go to work but woke up to a fabulous hand-drawn birthday card from Isaiah. He was so excited and proud to give it to me - how sweet!

Brian organized a little lunch for me at my favorite Gianno's with about 10 of my favorite friends from work. It was fun and of course yummy food! Then Betty (my co-worker) made me a delicious red velvet cake. It was soooooo good!!!!!

Brian, Levi and Isaiah took me out to dinner at Fire & Sticks (a local Japanese Steak House). It was so good of course. When we got home and got Levi in the bed we had some cupcakes from the Sweet Shoppe. Isaiah and Brian put a candle on top and I got to blow it out. Then he wanted a candle on his to blow out too - funny! Anywho - my 30th birthday has been so wonderful. My mom and dad, my sister, Brian and the boys and my friends made it so fabulous for me! Brian has been earning huge brownie points - and he turns 40 at the end of this year so I have got to come up with something fabulous for him for his special day!

SURPRISE BIRTHDAY WEEKEND (9.5-6.08) LONG

As I am typing right now, I am sitting on a plane flying home from Alabama. What a weekend it has been. Let me first say that my husband, sister, parents and friends are the most fabulous people ever! They all surprised me with a trip home for my 30th birthday. My actual birthday is tomorrow (8th). Here is what happened:

Friday morning Brian shows up at my office. He comes in saying something like “Let’s go, we gotta go or we are going to be late!” I sort of looked at him like a mental patient because I had no idea what he was talking about. He kept saying this over and over again. He then flashes a piece of paper at my with my travel plans on it and says we have to go so I can catch my flight. So I go with him (obviously) and we head to the car. The 15 minute drive to the airport I am asking him every question you can think of and he won’t tell me anything that is going to happen. All I know is I am flying to BHAM for the weekend. I am thinking, YEAH - I get to see my family and friends!

I had horrible travels on the plane coming and going and I won’t go into any of that. I want to keep this positive! Anyway, after being very delayed on Friday, I get off the plane in BHAM thinking Ashley is picking me up and will then tell me the plan for the weekend. As I come down the escalator I see Ashley along with my 3 favorite friends: Joanne, Jessica and April! And they were holding a huge sign that says HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY! How sweet - I was so excited to be there and see them all and happy that I finally made it. Hugs all around and then we jumped in the car and headed to get a pedicure. Hooray - my feet looked bad so that was super good! Then we had a fabulous dinner full of wonderful food and LOTS of laughs at The Melting Pot (enjoy the photo above from dinner)! YUMMY! The 5 of us stayed the night at Ross Bridge Marriott - which was amazing! We stayed up way too late talking of course.

Saturday morning we got up and said goodbye to sweet April because she had to make Camden’s first soccer game. Kiddos come first ya know! The rest of us went to breakfast at the hotel. Then Ashley and I were off to Tuscaloosa to see my parents. YEAH! Ashley had also made an appointment for me to get my hair cut which I had been wanting to do for weeks and didn’t have time. After that we had lunch at TACO CASA (SOOOOOOOOO YUMMY!!!!!)! Then off to meet my parents. My dad and I went to the BAMA game which was awesome. Now BAMA did win but they didn’t play super well. We didn’t care though, at least we got to go. It was so fun and sort of like old times with just me and my dad at the game!

This morning we slept in - hooray. It wouldn’t be a vacation without that! It was strange to just have the 4 “original” Parkers together again with no extras. We went to see my grandmother and all was fine. I always worry when I go to see her because I never know if she is going to have forgotten me or not. She has very advanced dementia (short term memory loss) and we never know when her memory loss is going to shift into her long term memory. Luckily she did know me and all was well. We went to lunch and then Ashley dropped me off at the airport! Like I said, my travel delays and such have been terrible so I won’t go in to that. I am on my way home right now and about to land in Charlotte to catch another flight to Greensboro! HOORAY - home to see my 3 favorite boys!!!! Brian is so great for taking care of our 2 precious boys this weekend while I went on this trip!!!

Let me just say again that I have the very best parents, sister, husband and friends ever! To do all of this planning and pull off something like this was so fabulous for me!! I don’t deserve something this fabulous and I surely don’t deserve family and friends like this - but I thank God every second of every day for them all! Thank you all for being so wonderful - my life would not be the same without each of you in it!!!!!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world!!!

NO UPDATES (9.3.08)

No new things to share really, it has sort of been a blah week here. Nothing super exciting. Levi has been extra grumpy (which means he has been acting like a normal child) because he is getting his 2nd top tooth - or at least that is what we are assuming. That combined with NO sleeping at school makes a not so happy little guy. We will get through it and hopefully he is on the mend.

Both boys have lovely bruised on their foreheads. Levi was pulling up on his table in his room and wacked his head on it. And then Isaiah and I were playing a friendly game of "tug of war" with his pajamas - guess I won since I ended up with the jammie pants and Isaiah ended up hitting his noggin on a metal bar and now he has a nice bruise too. Sad times - so we totally look like a battered family right now, therefore no pictures to post.

We were BEYOND thrilled about the football game on Saturday. WOW - what a game. We had no idea that they would do so well. Seriously, it was awesome. Ironically, watching football games is one of the things that makes me miss Alabama the most. My family, when I was growing up, always went to BAMA games and it was a huge deal. Saturday mornings, on game days, usually started with a playing of YEA ALABAMA on the record player (oh yeah - the record player, can you believe that) of the Million Dollar Band performing. AHHHHH - the good ole' days. Anyway, so watching football games and the excitement I feel in my heart when the team runs out on the field just reminds me how much I miss home and so wish I could be there. But life goes on and THANK YOU LORDIE for ESPN Game Plan so we won't miss a single game this year - HOORAY!!!!!!!

Oh and on other bad news - our stinkin' vacuum cleaner broke. UGH! So we go to walmart to replace it. Seriously, how can there be a vacuum that is $20 and one that is $400. It sucks the dirty and for us dog hair and cheerios off the floor. I just don't get it. Well, we bought the el-cheapo one because hey, we have 2 kids to feed so we can't afford the fancy one. We got it home and realized why it was only $20 because it DOESN'T REALLY WORK. It sucks up some of the stuff (and I use some quit liberally) but for sure not all. Great - guess we should have opted for the fancier one. Oh well - who likes dog hair everywhere - come for a visit!

Alrighty, off to bed for now. Brian took Isaiah to an away soccer game tonight and no doubt they are having a great time. Levi is fast asleep and has been since about 6:30 tonight (remember me mentioning the no sleeping at school) and Lucy is wondering around licking the floor for any dropping that might have been left over from the 2 kiddos. Oh and I did catch Levi feeding - YES feeding Lucy some cheerios off his highchair tray earlier tonight. No wonder she won't leave us alone when we are eating - on of our own is feeding her for crying out loud.

Guess I did have alot to say, maybe someone will read it! Bye for now!!!!!

Ok, so here is the sequence for these 2 photos - the kids were jumping off this ledge and we were trying to get a shot of them both jumping at the same time. I say "Isaiah - hold Jolea's hand and you guys jump together". So first picture is that happening - very sweet, they seem to be smiling at each other. AWWWW! Second picture is Isaiah already jumping, still holding Jolea's hand and Jolea has not jumped. OOPPPPPSSSSS! That means that yes, Isaiah pulled Jolea down (accidentally of course) and Jolea face planted on the cement! GREAT! Then lots of tears. I thought her nose was broken for sure - then I asked Ashley - did you get that picutre??

HAPPY 11th MONTH BIRTHDAY LEVI!!! (8.27.08)

Happy 11th Month Birthday LEVI!!!!! In exactly one month our little baby will be 1 year old - that is sooooooo hard to believe!!! So, Levi is still cruising around the furniture, crawling like a crazy man, eating more regular foods all the time, and is the happiest little guy ever (well, most of the time)!!!

Ok, so I confess I didn't remember it was his 11th month b-day until he had already gone to bed tonight. He didn't sleep AT ALL at school so he was a train wreck when we got home and in bed by 7 pm. Poor Levi - he was so tired! So, I went sneaking into his room after he was already asleep and this is what I found. Let me just point out all the wonderful things wrong with this picture..........

The GIANT bruise on his forhead he got this morning when he pulled himself up on his nightstand and bonked his head - OUCH!!!!
Mickey (otherwise known to us as mik mik) is dangerously close to the "stinky zone"! Watch out Mik Mik - hope there is no gas!!
Is that a PINK PIG you are holding on to Levi??? OH YEAH!
ORANGE paci - you got it - orange is such a terrible color (you know Auburn and Florida use it so it is bad) so that paci only stays in the bed because we can't possibly take it out in public.
His position - I am thinking he is going to be feeling SOO not good in the morning if he continues to sleep that way!

Ashley and Jolea are here for a visit this week. So we took the kiddos up to the school to take some pictures of them. Let me just say that it is impossible to get a good picture of 3 children like this! I mean Ashley and I were totally exhausted after we got done. Oh my, it was insane! These were taken at my friend Joanne's mom's house over Thanksgiving of last year when all of us were in Tuscaloosa for the holidays! These are some of my very best friends children. MEET LUCY CAROLINA MORGAN

Lucy is our newest family member! As many of you know, we lost our sweet Ali over a year ago. She was the sweetest doggie and we miss her dearly. For some time now Isaiah has been asking daily when we could get another dog. I think Brian and I both just felt like we weren't ready. So, we decided it was time to fulfill his request and also felt like we were "ready" to love another animal. So, we went to the local animal shelter earlier this week and saw LOTS of dogs. I mean they had A LOT of dogs! Well over 100 for sure. There were so many we just couldn't pick one from another. So we decided to go back again for another look. We had spotted a boxer mix that we really liked named Hazel. She was super cute but when we got to play with her yesterday she seemed afraid of us so we knew she wasn't the right one for us. Brian spotted Lucy in a cage sitting quietly and said, "Look at her ears - she's cute - let's get her out!" We took her outside and LOVED her. She played with us, Levi pulled on her ears and she didn't even notice so we knew she was perfect. She is a Lab/Hound mix, a female obviously, she is about 1 year 9 months old - DOB listed as November 2006 so she is almost 2. She is very, very sweet and gentle and has adjusted so well to being here at our house. She already loves the backyard but her favorite spot is on the couch looking out the window. The craziest thing of all is that she was taken in to the shelter as a stray dog in Feb of this year. We couldn't believe she could be at the shelter for that long. Poor girl - it was her time to find a family. That also gave us some comfort knowing that animals there are not just there for a few days and then - you know "sent to doggie heaven"! I guess that is the most heartbreaking thing of all when you go in there is to think that some of those animals will never walk out with a family. But as Brian said, we can only rescue one at a time! Lucy is already wearing an ALABAMA dog collar that we must have had for Ali but never used. She looks like she fits right in to our family! YEAH - we are so excited to have Lucy as part of our family now!

Funny thing is that when we went to the shelter the first time, we basically said, no black dogs and no labs. We just didn't want a dog that was like Ali. We just thought it would be best for us to venture out and find another kind of dog, I guess so it didn't feel like we were replacing Ali. But after looking over 100's of dogs, we choose a dog that is a lab mix just like Ali. I guess some people are just attracted to certain kinds of dogs and that must be our thing. At any rate, we are super excited about her. The boys both are loving her lots. Levi just laughs at her, it is so cute! And she did perfect last night in her crate. We just can't believe how great she has done adjusting to being here after being at the shelter for so long! Enjoy a few more pictures below. I will try to take one of her and the boys too.

The boys had mix and match day today. So, Isaiah was decked out in his camo pants, Hawaiian shirt and blue shoes - talk about a combo, that surely didn't match. But he sure looked cute! And of course Levi was dressed in his navy & khaki shirt with his light blue and red shorts. Obviously you can see that Levi is happier than ever in the picture but for whatever reason Isaiah didn't want to cooperate with his picture being taken so no smile from him. Anyway, enjoy the photo!

Oh and I almost forgot - Levi has another tooth now! That makes 3! Two bottom ones in the center and now the right top one in the middle. He seems to have done well with the whole tooth thing - he just drools like someone turned on a faucet in his mouth but other than that he does fine with it - knock on wood!!!!!!

PAJAMA DAY (8.18.08)

Today was pajama day at the kid's school. They are having some sort of Spirit Week at school this week and they have been asked to dress a certain way each day. So today was PJ day and both kids headed into school this morning in their PJ's. Not the ones that they slept in the night before, I put clean ones on them I assure you. Anyway, when both boys went into class - NO ONE ELSE had their PJ's on. WHAT - that makes me so angry that no one else followed the rules and was participating in this. The school works hard to put together stuff like this for the kids and then no other parents participate. So anyway, Isaiah was the only one in his class thus far this morning that was wearing his jams(our shortened word for PJ's)! Oh well - he didn't care though, he was so excited that he got to wear his jams to school. Anyway, I took a picture of them this morning for everyone to see how cute they looked!!!!!!

Hi everyone! Hope all of you are having a great weekend. We haven't been doing much this weekend so far. Here is some video of Levi waving that we took last night after dinner. He is so funny waving. If you wave at him he will just wave, it is really cute to see him learning new things. He will also occassionally say "bye bye" at you while waving but we weren't fortunate enough to catch that on camera. Levi's vocabulary consist of "da da", "bye bye", "ma ma"(only when he is tired or hurt will he say my name) and his latest giberish is "night night" which he only says right before bedtime at night. So cute!!! He is growing up and has mastered his sippy cup and is cruising around all the furniture. He has also started eating some more solid stuff too and seems to be doing better with that. Although he still prefers baby food!

And how about these Olympics - we have been watching almost every night. Or I should say Brian has been watching because I usually go to bed before anything good happens. Actually last night I had already gone to bed and Brian went back to his office to get some work done and he called me after Michael Phelps won his medal again. He said I had to go downstairs and turn on the TV to see it on replay. WOW - it was close! And Isaiah has enjoyed watching some of it too.

Speaking of Isaiah, he and Brian went to a PGA golf tournament today and had fun! Isaiah wasn't sure if he wanted to go but we talked him into it and they had a great time! They were both decked out in their ugly golf shirts, hats and of course sunscreen!!! Isaiah especially liked the people who held their arms up to tell people to be quiet - maybe I should try that, I don't think it would work so well here at home. But when I asked him what his favorite part of going he said (as any 4 year old would) getting to ride the bus from the parking over to the golf course. HAHA! Isaiah and Levi got to go swimming tonight! Nona and Popa, Sarah (Brian's sister) and her kiddos Eliza and Brady are here for a visit. They are staying at a local hotel and so after dinner tonight we took the kids swimming. Actually Brian got in the pool with them, not me. Anyway, Levi really loved the pool, it was his first time in a "real" pool. The only other time he has been in the pool was in a little baby pool in the backyard. And he loved it - he is so not afraid of the water. In the tub he just splashes around, gets on his belly and has a good time. Isaiah however is slightly afraid of the water. He is very skiddish and it takes him awhile to feel comfortable. Both kids had a great time. Levi had to get out early because his skin is just so sensitive that he started getting all red after about 15 minutes. I guess his skin couldn't handle the chemicals in the pool. Bless his heart - surely his skin is going to grow out of this. Anyway after some special lotion tonight he will be fine I am sure. No pictures or video of Isaiah but some of Levi enjoying the pool for the first time. We have enjoyed our visit with Nona and Popa, Sarah, Eliza and Brady! Eliza and Isaiah have had fun playing - we told Isaiah that Eliza was his Twin Cousin - they were born on the same day. So, it's fun to see them playing together - and they shockingly have alot of similarities in personality as well - both very strong willed. We will spend some time with them again tomorrow and I will get some pictures of all the kids together! For now enjoy these photos and videos! Off to bed for now!

DISH FAIRY #2 (8.9.08)

Some of you know that Brian is also known in our house as the "Dish Fairy"! We call him that because he loves to do the dishes - wait I should rephrase that - he almost always does the dishes because I HATE to do it. We also call him that because it seems that as soon as I or Isaiah place something in the sink, literally within seconds it is cleaned and placed on the drying rack, it is sort of scary like we have a little fairy that comes behind us. Oh and we also don't have a dishwasher so Brian does ALOT of dishes! Well, apparently Levi has decided he might be a dish fairy too one day. The other day Brian was standing at the sink, his normal spot, and doing some dishes and Levi was standing next to him banging on the cabinet - I think he was trying to say "Daddy, pick me up and let me learn how to wash the dishes too!!!!" HAHA!!!!!!!! Ya right!

Below you will find 2 different papers that Isaiah did at school yesterday. You will notice on the first one that he was obviously asked to draw a picture of something that began with the letter written. Oh my our little Isaiah seems to be quite the artist. Anyway - at least he got a SUPER JOB! from his teacher who was laughing hysterically when she told me about it! This was so cute this morning, I just had to post it for you all to see. Isaiah decided this morning that he wanted to feed Levi his morning bottle. And he did a great job (see photos and video)! We told him if he fed him he had to change his diaper too and he was not about that!!

We are so blessed to have 2 little boys who truly love each other. As I have said before, we have never seen a stitch of jealous from Isaiah at all - he has accepted Levi from the moment we came home from the hospital and never looked back. And Levi just lights up when he sees his big brother. It is very sweet!! Anyway, enjoy!!

Happy 10th Month Birthday LEVI!!!!!!!!

We love our little buddy so much and can't even believe he is 10 months old today! That just seems like pure craziness to me! He is such a sweet little guy and is a fabulous addition to our family. He is so happy all the time and rarely gets upset about anything. He loves to eat and explore everything. He is much more into everything than Isaiah was, which is not great. He likes to eat paper and leaves and then, you know, throw it up, that's always fun! But, we love this little man so much - he lights up our world constantly!!!! Things are just trucking along for us!

Last week I went to the beach in Alabama with my 3 bestest lady friends, Joanne, Jessica and April! We had a BLAST, of course! No kids! It was a fabulous break and so great to see them and be able to talk and hang out. It is rare that you find friends like them and I love them all so much! My flight down to B-ham was fine, no major problems. My flight home was a different story. BHM to ATL got cancelled so they had to reroute me, it was crazy. Thanks to April Wines for taking care of Levi until I got back since Brian had to leave too!

Isaiah is with his Nona and Popa (Brian's parents) this week. They are being world travelers! He left last Saturday to go back to Nashville with Nona and they all left on Wednesday to fly to Philly then drive to NJ. I know he is having a big time because every time we talk to him he can barely get the words out what all he is doing. I was thinking last night how much I miss him and he still will be gone for another week, sad times!!!! It is so quiet around here without him.

Levi is doing great!! He is officially crawling on all fours now, no more army crawling. We have this bowl of snacks that is in our pantry for Isaiah to get snacks if he wants one and it's Levi's favorite thing in the world to mess with. He will pull out the bags and try and bite them. I guess Isaiah told him these are the good snacks and so Levi is always trying to get them. It's so funny! His teeth are coming in well, I will have to try and get a picture for everyone to see. We take him to the doctor this morning for his 9 month checkup (although he is almost 10 months now). So I will post later today how the appointment went and such, no shots today so that is GREAT! Isaiah is with Nona and Popa for 2 weeks so we are all off our normal schedules. I promise to post lots of fun stuff soon and updates on what is going on with us!!! Promise!!!!

NORMAL DAY (7.5.08)

We had a normal day today! We got up this morning, played around the house, then went to the grocery store. Fun, Fun! Came home and ate lunch, took naps and went outside to let the kids swim in the pool. Ganny bought a baby pool for the kiddos when we were in Cherokee and we brought it back with us for the boys to play in. Levi loved it, I thought he would cry because the water was so cold but he didn't. They both splashed around and had a great time! Anyway, after some playtime outside we came in and Isaiah and I made a cake. Our family favorite Banana Sour Cream Cake. Now this is a super secret recipe and I can never tell a soul - but if you click here you can see the recipe on kraftfoods.com. It is super yummy and we LOVE to eat this cake. Oh my! Check out the picture of Isaiah being a "cheffer" and helping make the cake! And of course while we were making the cake, Levi was doing what he does best, playing and getting in to things he isn't suppose to! We placed his basket of toys and his table in front of the stairs so he wouldn't go up the stairs. WRONG - he just moved the table out of the way and in less than 2 minutes he was half way up our stairs, our HARD WOODEN STAIRS that if you fall you would break your neck or worse, your baby toe like me! I freaked out and screamed, "OH MY GOSH - LEVI WHAT ARE YOU DOING?' Or maybe I should have been saying, what was I doing not watching my child who can totally climb the stairs. Bad mother! Anyway, he was safe and I will be more careful to keep my eyes on him at all times from that moment forward! Still Levi looks super cute below - this was moments before he took the climb. And you might be asking what in the world is that around Levi's legs. Well, I attempted to make him some little things to go over his knees. Because he is crawling around all the time, his knees are ALWAYS red so someone at work gave me the idea to cut the top off of some socks and put them over his knees. It worked for awhile and then it just rolled down and was probably cutting off his circulation - so much for that great idea! Enjoy the photos! More to come tomorrow!

We enjoyed the 4th this year. We are glad to have Brian home, the kids are happy and I am thrilled to have some help. We went to a parade in Jamestown, which is a small little town next to High Point before you get to Greensboro. Anyway, they had a little parade and it was fun. The parade lasted about 20 minutes so it took longer to drag all of our stuff out there than the actual parade but it was something to do! Here are a few pictures of Isaiah and Levi enjoying the parade! Or actually Levi enjoying his juice cup and Isaiah enjoying the parade!

And here are a few pictures of the boys sporting their best July 4th outfits, of course Levi's pants were the hit of the party. They were Isaiah's pants when he was little and we pulled them out for Levi to wear. They were soooooo cute!!!

After we got home from the parade, we had lunch and then took a long nap. We LOVE nap time in our house! Seriously, who doesn't! Anywho, then we went over to April and Keith's house (April works with Brian in Athletics at HPU) for a little 4th of July cookout party. Michelle (HPU's women's soccer coach) and Will (HPU's asst. women's soccer coach) and his family came over as well. It was a small group but we had lots of fun talking and laughing! And of course Isaiah had a blast because he LOVES playing with everyone. Levi did very well too. When we finally left well after the kid's bedtime, they were both so tired! We saw some fireworks on the way home but Isaiah for some reason is scared of fireworks so he didn't really want to see them. One last picture here of Levi when we got home! And.....oh my gosh......anyone watched this new show on TV (NBC) named The Baby Borrowers? I am watching it right now, it is SHOCKING how these people are acting. Apparently it is about these teenage couples that want to have kids now and so they are living together and some INSANE parents actually let these teenagers keep their babies for 3 DAYS. That is totally crazy, I would be a basket case! Anyway, shows back on gotta go - check it out!

Hi everyone - just wanted you guys to know that all is still well with us. We are making it (just barely) with Brian still gone. He comes home tomorrow - thank you LORDIE! Anyway, here is a new video of Levi eating his fruit puffs. Seriously, this little man doesn't waste any time with mastering things. He literally is the fastest learner ever! He didn't even know how to eat these until last night and then it clicked and he was stuffing them in his mouth as fast as he could, as if we never feed him. Anyway, he ended up eating about 100 I think! HAHA! Enjoy - he is soooo cute as usual!!!!

SO FAR, SO GOOD (6.29.08)

So far, so good - Brian left yesterday morning and so far (cross your fingers), no major problems thus far! We had a good day yesterday. Levi is EVERYWHERE and does not want to be trapped anywhere. For instance, he use to love the johnny jump up and his exersaucer but no more, he only sees that as something he can't get out of and crawl around so he doesn't want any part of those things. He only tolerates sitting in his high chair because he thinks he will get food. Anyway, we all took a long nap on Saturday afternoon which was good. Got up and went to the grocery store which is always fun. Came home and Isaiah and I made a cake (I know, so domestic huh). And I made dinner for us holding Levi the whole time because if I put him down he would get in to something or cry because I wasn't holding him. Levi went to bed early because for whatever reason he was a wreck even after his long nap. Anyway, he went to bed at 7pm and didn't wake this morning until 8am. You know when you have those moments and think, surely something must be wrong and you check on them a million times, that's sort of how I felt this morning. But all was fine, he was just tired, I guess from crawling everywhere. Check out the below video of his pulling up on the couch. He has picked this all up so fast. It seems like he learned to sit up, crawl and now pull up in a matter of weeks. I just don't remember Isaiah doing all of this so quickly. Maybe we will have an early walker - who knows.

Brian called yesterday when he got to Tampa and had a good flight. All was fine. He brought a few of Isaiah's bed time books with him so he could read a book to him each night before bed on the phone. So sweet! So when Isaiah called him last night to read his book, Brian was at a resturant with some friends but he stopped and read the book to Isaiah. I was just thinking, I am sure his friends thought that a little strange, unless they have kids then they thought it was the sweetest thing ever! We surely miss Brian when he is gone!

I always joke with Brian about having a "Dish Fairy" at our house. Seriously, you put a dish in the sink and moments later it is clean and in the drying rack. Strangely enough, the dish fairy doesn't seem to show up when Brian is out of town for some reason, very strange I know! I kept waiting for it to happen yesterday but it never did and by the end of the day, I had lots of dishs to do, yucky! So when I talked to Brian last night I told him to bring back the dish fairy!

I have also had this sinus/cough/yucky stuff going on for some time now. Brian keeps telling me to go to the doctor and I keep refusing thinking surely it will go away soon. I don't know what is going on with me. I just cough and cough and cough, especially at night time. So, Isaiah always sleeps in the bed with me when Brian is gone (the ultimate treat for him). Isaiah told Brian yesterday that if I was coughing at night time, he would go downstairs and get me a drink to help me stop coughing. How sweet is he! So, last night when we first laid down I was coughing a little bit and every time I did, Isaiah would say "Are you ok Mommy?" Just like a little man, looking out for me! Luckily I didn't cough too much after I feel asleep.

We were also talking to Isaiah about this trip of Brian's. Telling him that Daddy is taking a trip now, in another week or so I am going on a trip to the beach (THANK YOU JESUS) with some of my girlfriends. I can not wait!!!!!!!!! And then Isaiah is going on a trip with Nona and Popa for 2 weeks. So everyone gets a trip but poor Levi! He gets the shaft again. It's good for all of us to get away every now and then to refresh and regain some of your sanity!

Today is Levi's 9 month birthday! Can you believe it???? My how time flies! Of course he is doing great, still no teeth yet. He has mastered crawling and is starting to show lots of interest in pulling up on things. He will stand alone if you place him next to something (see picture below) and has pretty good balance. He wants to be on the move most of the time. Doesn't much like sitting still anymore. And he is right behind Isaiah at all times if he can be! Not sure of his weight and all, he goes for his 9 month check up in a few weeks. And as always Isaiah continues to be a fabulous big brother to Levi!

WEEKEND TRIP TO CHEROKEE (6.25.08)

Here are a few pictures and videos from our trip to Cherokee, NC this past weekend. We had a really good time and my parents really enjoyed seeing all the grandkids. We enjoyed a picnic on Saturday and everyone played in the creek at the park, even Levi. And Isaiah and Levi both had some watermelon - enjoy the video of the kids eating it. That's it for now! ALL IS BETTER NOW (6.25.08)

Yeah, all is better today! Brian got home safely, hooray! The power and water are working and no one has thrown up on me today. HIP, HIP, HOORAY!!!! I did decide to keep Isaiah home from school today, for 3 reasons actually - #1, I wasn't completely convinced this morning that his eye looked better and was still slightly worried that he might have the BAD pink eye, false alarm though, his eye is completely healed now - #2, I am insanely tired from last nights episode and think I can get a nap if I keep him home - and #3, I know his school will give me nasty looks if I bring him back today because surely the degreed doctor must be wrong and Isaiah has the bad pink eye. So, therefore, I take Levi to school and keep Isaiah home. Morning is good - we watch a little TV, eat some more Apple Jacks for breakfast. There is a group of ladies that I work with that I eat lunch with about once a month and as luck would have it today was the day I was suppose to meet them for lunch - so I called them and said Isaiah (with the not contagious pink eye) and I would be meeting them at my favorite Gianno's!! We go, have a nice lunch. Brian calls and says he is on his way home. We stop at Target on the way home for me to pick up a few items. Go home and TAKE A NAP - thank you LORDIE! Sleep from 2pm to 4:30 pm (so nice)! Get up, pick up Brian because he drove the school car to Charlotte and had no car at work, pick up Levster (as we like to call him) and come home. YEAH! Kids are in bed before 8pm and all is well. Hooray!

So, Isaiah is such a ham, he did a little singing tonight for all of you. Enjoy the 2 videos below. Wait - go to the potty first and then come back and watch these because you are going to want your bladder empty so you don't pee your pants - or if you have a Depends handy you can slip that on - either one will do!

Anyone seen Alvin and the Chipmunks, he is singing the Christmas Time is Here song from that, but he doesn't know all the words so he just sings the ones he knows.

This is a remake of Isaiah's old Bad Day video - oh my, the dance moves are seriously nice and he doesn't get all the words "exactly" right. Enjoy!

GET READY - THIS IS A LONG ONE (6.24/25.08)

This seriously has been an insane day! Where do I begin.......Brian is out of town in Charlotte at his annual SID meeting. He will be home tomorrow evening. So, as luck would have it, everything goes wrong when he isn't here. Which is very problematic for me because it makes me question my ability to do anything alone anymore. So, here is my timeline for today.....follow along as best you can!

10:00 am - Brian heads to Charlotte

12:30 pm - Lindsey enjoys a nice lunch at McAllisters with friend Melissa (baked potato's are so yummy)

2:30 pm - The dreaded phone call from the kid's school. I am assuming when I see it on my caller ID that Levi has a fever as he is trying his darndest to get his 2 first teeth and has been seriously grumpy for the past few days. But no, it Isaiah's issue today. Teacher Ms. Yolanda (Isaiah calls her Ms. Sholanda) calls to say Isaiah has pink eye and I need to come and get him - GREAT - isn't that really contagious! WONDERFUL!!!

2:35 pm - call Dr.s office to get appointment for Isaiah and am told they can't see him until 5:00 pm - GREAT - so I have to take Levi with me to the doctor and infect him with all kinds of wonderful things as well. YIPPEE!

2:45 pm - drop everything at work and head out the door to pick up pink eye Isaiah and grumpy Levi from daycare.

3:00 pm - get home, feed Levi and put him to bed for a nap and pink eye Isaiah is watching TV (awww some peace)

3:10 pm - realize the water isn't working at our house for some reason when pink eye Isaiah goes to wash his hands after eating a bag of Cheetos (100 calorie pack of course), call the water company to complain and they say "Mam - your water bill was due on 6/23 and has not been paid so we turned your water off" - I think to myself - really, that is news to me, oh I guess I haven't paid our bills for the month which I usually do as soon as we get paid on the 20th but
I haven't yet and what happened to the grace period - seriously, that is so stiff. I apologize 100 times to the lady (as if she cares if I have working water at my house), immediately give her my debit card number to pay it and they come back and turn the water on. Within like 10 minutes, as if someone was sitting in their car on the street waiting for me to call - very strange but wonderful - now pink eye Isaiah can wash his hands.

3:20 pm - enjoy a nice conversation with April about how we can't wait to leave our kids and go to the beach in 2 weeks and how we are going to eat lots and lots of unhealthy snacks while we are there, and we also talked about carseats and such boring things like that.

3:45 pm - call another April (that works with Brian) to see if she can come over and stay with Levi while I take pink eye Isaiah to the doctor at 5 pm, she says yes, THANK YOU LORD!

4:00 pm - talk to Brian and vent about the frustrations of the day thus far, little did I know it was only beginning!

4:15 pm - respond to some work emails - hooray!

4:45 pm - April comes over, pink eye Isaiah and I hop in the car and off we go to the doctor. On the way I inform him that we will not be seeing Dr. Poston (his favorite doctor of course that I think he has a secret crush on), and we will in fact be seeing another doctor (male doctor - not sweet Dr. Poston) and get a seriously grumpy face from pink eye Isaiah, at which point he then asks if he will have to take his clothes off. Apparently, he only wants to take his clothes off for sweet Dr. Poston and not anyone else. I inform him that it is his eye that is the issue and he won't need to disrobe. He is relieved!

5:00 pm - get to the doctor's office, we are sent to the SICK ROOM to wait (you know so we can be infected by all the other sick kids). Isaiah asks why there are no toys in the sick room but there are toys in the "Not Sick Room" as he calls it. I explain to him that if you are sick, you shouldn't feel like playing with toys. He looks puzzled but moves on.

5:05 pm - they call our name - WHEW - maybe we didn't get too infected with all the other sick kids.

5:20 pm - after reading every book to Isaiah in the room, the Doc comes in. Oddly enough, he is apparently the oldest working doctor in America (apparently he hasn't made enough money to retire yet even though he is WELL over the age). He comes in, barely looks at the in question pink eye and then checks Isaiah's ears and breathing - I assume he might not be breathing if he has pink eye so he was just checking to make sure. Funny thing though, he was asking me "Has he been itching his eyes at all", I look at him sort of odd because I am thinking, I didn't bring in an infant here, Isaiah is quite capabable of answering your questions, why are you asking me this, how do I know if his eye is itching, ask him dummy! Anyway, he gives me this long explanation about how there are 3 kinds of pink eye and he doesn't think that Isaiah has the very contagious one but can't be sure until the morning - GREAT - so we won't know it's super contagious until he has spent about 12 more hours at home with no medicication infecting everyone else - WONDERFUL!

5:25 pm - we leave, I felt like saying "thanks for nothing - or better yet, thanks for taking my $15 co-pay and billing my insurance company another $80 for nothing!"

5:30 pm - get home, talk to April for a moment - she did a great job keeping Levi considering he never even woke up. Oh wait, he must have heard me come in the door because he woke up the second I got home - of course he did!!!!

5:45 pm - have a moment of insanity and think that I can watch an espoide of Oprah that I had DVR'd - what was I thinking??? Give that up very quickly!

6:00 pm - Isaiah goes upstairs to use the potty and what do you know our toliet is stopped up! Now - I must tell you - we have THE most sensitive toliet in America. If you try to flush more than about oh 1 piece of toliet paper down at a time then you are out of luck. So, apparently when we got home earlier, Isaiah or I (don't know which one because we both used the potty - let's just blame it on Isaiah for now) must have used the potty and with the water not working at the time and I guess as fate would have it - the toliet was messed up but I didn't realize it then!

6:30 pm - after spending 30 minutes trying to unstop the toliet, and listening to Levi SCREAM bloody murder downstairs because GOD FORBID he can't see me for a moment, I call Brian right before I am about to jump out the window, no seriously, I call Brian and vent yet again. While I am on the phone with him and he is wishing he never married me because I MUST be insane, (and several prayers) the toliet is unstopped! HOORAY - we can pee-pee again! GREAT!

6:31 pm - hang up with Brian, I obviously no longer need his moral support. Come downstairs to find pink eye Isaiah and Levi who now is covered with snot all over his face in the kitchen. Isaiah has decided that he wants Apple Jacks for dinner (works for me) and has gotten out the Apple Jacks, Milk, 2 bowls and 2 spoons for us to have. How thoughtful is he! Trying to help out! So I proceed to help the rest of the way in preparing the fine delicacy known as Apple Jacks and Isaiah sits down to eat. Meanwhile, Levi still crying, so I fix his dinner and feed him. He ate Peas for the first time tonight and didn't gag or throw them up so I am thinking things have settled down. That's what I get for thinking apparently!

7:00 pm - take kids up to bath time while I get their stuff ready for bed (usually they go to bed at 8pm but I have almost had it today so we are heading that direction a little earlier than normal). Since Brian is gone, Isaiah knows he gets to sleep with me so I am moving all 95 of his animals in our bed because he couldn't possibly sleep without one of them.

7:20 pm - after some fun in the bath, I get Levi out and take him to his room to feed him. All seems to be going well.

7:22 pm - make the mistake of trying to give Levi some medicine, just in case his mouth starts hurting - he throws up ALL OVER me! Remember those peas from earlier that I was so glad he ate - well they are all over my clothes, Levi's face and clothes and the chair and floor. I scream - ugh!!!!! Levi screams because I scared him when I screamed! Isaiah's starts yelling - what happened???

7:23 pm - regain my composure, change my clothes, Levi's clothes, clean up the chair and floor and attempt to feed him the rest of his bottle and give up on the medicine for tonight!

7:26 pm - just as Levi is falling asleep while eating and I am thinking he will go to bed so easy tonight, Isaiah calls out from the other room "MOMMY, I WENT POOP, CAN YOU COME AND WIPE ME?" Thanks buddy - now Levi is WIDE awake again - so much for easy bed time. I put Levi down (which makes him cry again because once again, he can't see me) and go to wipe off the poop. Throw up and poop in 5 minutes - it's great to be a Mom!

7:35 pm - after rocking WIDE AWAKE Levi for 10 minutes, I put him down, hoping that the paci will do tonight and he will fall asleep - luckily it works! HOORAY - one down, one to go!

7:40 pm - get Isaiah out of bath and read a book. He calls Brian to tell him night, night and calls my dad to wish him a happy birthday! Off to sleep for Isaiah - or so I think.

7:42 pm - come downstairs and think I am going to finally enjoy some Oprah - watch about 20 minutes and hear Isaiah rearranging something upstairs. Go to check it out and he has all his animals all over the bed and tells me that is where they will sleep. I say to him very firmly, it's time to go to sleep. He informs me that he isn't sleepy and wants to watch a movie. Now usually I would NEVER EVER EVER give in to this but I have had it today so I say ok and go and get his movie choice Toy Story 2 and put it in upstairs for him to watch.

7:46 pm - come downstairs AGAIN and try to finish Oprah. Talk to Brian again - all is well now.

7:46 pm to about 9:30 pm - watch TV, eat some ice cream, clean out bottles, talk to my mom on the phone, play on the computer

9:30 pm - Isaiah yells downstairs that his movie is over and can he watch another one - that would be a NO! So I go upstairs and decide I should go to bed as well.

10:30 pm - can't fall asleep because I can't stop coughing due to my ever present sinus issues!!

11:30 pm - have doozed off but still coughing

12:30 am - come downstairs to get something to drink but I am STILL coughing! Maybe slept a total of an hour to this point!

1:10 am - hear a LOUD noise that startles me and the power goes out. Now we sleep with several fans on and noise makers galore so when our power goes out at night, the house goes from being somewhat noisy to DEAD silence. I think, is the house on fire. The noise was so loud that I thought it might be our breaker box has just blown up or something.

1:12 am - I hear all the sirens and such. So, I come downstairs wondering if I should evacuate my children and myself from our home because these sirens are basically in our front yard it sounds like. I look out the front door and the power is out on the whole street - ok great, at least our house isn't the only one. So what do I do, CALL BRIAN of course in the middle of the night. Hey - if I'm awake, he should be too, that's what I am thinking. I know, so mean right! He answers thinking what in the world is wrong this time. I tell him what happened. He sounds so concerned about the kids and how hot it is outside and the air not working and such.

1:30 am - I think that a transformer blew and surely they will fix it so I try to go back upstairs and go to sleep - not happening because you know the sirens are still going off. How are my children sleeping through this???

1:45 am - come back downstairs again, at least my battery works on my computer, play a game on the computer for a moment and start composing this blog about my terrible day.

2:42 am - now an hour later - I am almost done and what do you know, the power is restored, all is noisy again in the Morgan household, and just in time because my computer just gave the LOW BATTERY warning. Oh no, what if I lose this masterpiece of a blog, I must SAVE right away.

3:05 am - I am going to attempt to post this now - because I am WIDE awake now and then try to go to bed, and hopefully not cough the rest of the night - yeah right! My kids missed all the fun - thankfully!!!!! And in less than 4 hours I get to get up and take a shower and get ready for work and get the kids ready for school! YEAH - tomorrow will be a fun day for sure!!!!

Oh and I just realized as the wrecker pulls out in front of our house that there was a car accident right up the road and a car must have hit the power poll, that was the loud noise. I surely hope no one was injured! YIKES!!!

Ok, off to try and sleep!!!! GOOD NIGHT! Oh and anyone who made it through this entire blog deserves an award!

Thank you everyone who helped complete our collection of Kung Fu Panda toys. We got word that Uncle D has purchased Tigress and Crane. And on our way home today (more pictures from our trip to come) we got Master Mantis - so that completes our collection. THANKS so much to everyone who helped out (Derek, Mark, Ganny and Nona!) GOING OUT OF TOWN (6.17.08)

Just a little FYI, the Morgans will be going out of town tomorrow until Sunday. We are headed to Cherokee, NC to hang with Ganny, Pops, Ashley, Jimmy and Jolea for a long weekend. My dad is working at the World Changers project there and so the whole fam decided to come. And since we are only three hours away and my parents haven't seen Levi since Feb, we decided to make the trip too. Should be lots of fun! So, I am 1,000% sure we won't have internet access there so don't expect any updates until Sunday night at the earliest. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week and weekend! LATER!

Happy Father's Day everyone! We will have to let Brian do a blog about his father's day after the day is done. But for now - I just wanted to wish all the dads out there a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Brian being a dad! Enjoy!

PICKING STRAWBERRIES (6.14.08)

We went to pick some strawberries this morning at a local strawberry farm. It was soooo much fun, Isaiah and I had never done it before. So, off we went into the strawberry field with our bucket. We found SOOOOOO many good strawberries. It was really, really fun! Brian took a little video of us picking them while he was holding Levi. On a seperate note, Levi is all over the place crawling, seriously - this is too much! And my floors are really dirty too as evidence shown on his shirt all the time! HA! Anywho - picking strawberries was a blast and we came home, washed and cut them, of course taste testing a few. They are good of course! Can't wait for some strawberry shortcake - yummy!!!

Also, a life lesson was learned today as well. Every strawberry is different, some are more red than others, some are fatter than others, and so on. And sometimes you have to look a little harder to find the really good ones. Both of these things can be true with friends. Friends in life come in all shapes and sizes and colors. And sometimes you have to look a little harder under the leaf to find the good ones, but it doesn't mean they aren't there! And how fun when you find a big, red, yummy strawberry - it is so sweet! This may not be applicable to any of you but it was for Brian and I today so I thought I would share!

Happy Anniversary to my parents, otherwise known in our house as Ganny and Pops. Today they celebrate 36 years of marriage (married June 10, 1972)! I am sure they would tell you that their whole marriage has been perfect seeing that they have 2 perfect daughters (Ashley and I of course) and 3 fabulous grandchildren (Isaiah, Jolea and Levi)! And how could I forget 2 wonderful son-in-laws (Brian and Jimmy)!

LEVI IS MOBILE (6.8.08)

Levi can scoot around, he gets where he wants to go. It is so funny. We just discovered that he can do this - it's pretty impressive for a little guy. He sort of pulls himself forward with his arms while pushing off with his toes - sort of like an ugly army crawl. Watch his skills on the video - he hasn't refined it yet, it's pretty new for him but you can get the idea.

KUNG FU PANDA REVIEW (6.7.08)

We have been promising Isaiah we would take him to see Kung Fu Panda as soon as it came out. We saw the preview for it months and months ago and Isaiah thought it was the coolest thing ever - so we have been anxiously awaiting it to come out. It came out yesterday and we decided to take him to see it this morning at 9:20 am! He was so excited!!! Here is some video before the movie in the car.

And here is a little bit more video of Isaiah, Brian and Levi in the theatre waiting for it to start. Of course we are never on time for anything but we got to the theatre and in our seats about 20 minutes before it started. I was actually kind of surprised that there weren't more people there. I thought it would be packed with people like us bringing their little kids but there was only a handful of people there.

So, on to the movie! It was sooooooo cute! Isaiah really loved it and we did too. Levi thought it was great - of course because he slept through most of it. Anyway, it was great. The story line was great and the animation was amazing. It was one of the best animated movies I have seen in a long time. We watched this special earlier in the week on HBO about the making of it which was pretty cool. It talked about all the characters and interviewed each of the actors that did the voices. Jack Black does the voice of Po (the Panda) and he is really funny. Then there are 5 Masters that represent the 5 styles of Kung Fu. They are called "The Fabulous Five". Angelina Jolie is Master Tigress, Jackie Chan is Master Monkey, Lucy Liu is Master Viper, David Cross (played Uncle Ian in Alvin & the Chipmunks) is Master Crane, and Seth Rogen (funny guy from Knocked Up) is Master Mantis. Dustin Hoffman does the voice of Master Shifu which is the teacher of the 5 and also teaches Po who is deemed the Dragon Warrior and must defend China from the bad guy Tai Lung (voiced by Ian McShane). The characters are really, really funny and unlike some previews, it doesn't show all the good parts on the preview. For sure worth the movie to go and see at the theatre!

And as promised we had lunch at McDonalds afterwards which is always popular with Isaiah. Above are his thoughts about the movie.
